Asus had a great year of smartphones this year. With phones like Zenfone 5Z, they gave some really tough competition to phones like OnePlus 6.
The company's Zenfone 5Z was one of the few phones to really put OnePlus 6 in some trouble. But one of the main let-downs of that phone was the company's proprietary Zen Ui. Hopefully, they did launch a phone with stock android that had some decent specs, mainly a mid-range phone, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.
Today in this article I am going to tell you about all of the leaks and rumors so read this article till the end.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2
Now, we have some leaks and rumors about its successor Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2. A recent hands-on video by Slashleaks reveals that the phone has a Glass-back around its back with some major changes over its predecessor.
Display
From the recent leak video, we have come to know that the phone will ditch the 18:9 aspect ratio based display of its predecessor in lieu of an 6.2 inch 19:9 aspect ratio Display. The resolution of the display will be 2280 by 1080p.
It's going to be an IPS LCD Display. There will be notch cut-out on the top, resembling the notch style of the OnePlus 6.
Processor
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is expected to come with an Snapdragon 660 coupled with 4GB or 6GB of ram and 64 or 128GB of storage .
The performance is expected to be good as its predecessor did very well despite housing the Snapdragon 636 SoC. It's yet to see how Asus optimizes its device.
Software
As we have come to know from the recent leak video, the phone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Not running on Android Pie out of the box is a bit of a disappointment. It would be nice to see Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 running Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Build and Design
As we mentioned earlier, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is spotted with a glass-back at the back, for better or worse. It can be very good at the same time not so good.
Swapping out Aluminium with Glass means Fingerprints Smudges and all those stuffs on the back. But the good thing is - Its gonna feel like you are holding a premium phone.
Camera
As for the camera, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will have a dual-lense combo at the back. A primary 12-megapixel shooter coupled with a 5-megapixel depth sensing camera for portrait shots.
It's expected that Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will feature a 13-megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calls.
It would be nice to see if Asus replaces the default Snapdragon Camera app with something less intrusive and easy to use kind of app.
Price
Right now, we have no information about the price of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2. But I expect Asus to launch this phone at under 300$ or for Rs-14,999.
We'll see how Asus prices the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2.
Verdict
With a Powerful SoC and a Glass back design to a pure version of Android, the
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is seeming to be a one exciting smartphone.
If Asus manages to price the phone right, it will give some tough competition to the likes of recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and the Upcoming RealMe U1.
