RealMe's first ever selfie-focused phone is here. Today in India the RealMe U1 was launched officially. Let's have a look what the RealMe U1 brings to the table .

RealMe U1 Specifications -

Display

The RealMe U1 has a 6.3” IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340px. The phone has a teardrop notch on the top. And according to RealMe the whole panel covers 90.8% of the front area. The Top bezel measures 2.05mm, the side ones are barely notcible with their size being just 1.7mm.

The display of the phone is shielded by 2.5D Gorilla Glass.

Build Quality

If you have seen the RealMe 2 Pro then the back of the phone cannot but be familiar to you . The back is made of Acrylic. It’s got special coating that makes it look like glass. Unlike glass, it's less prone to shattering and it's lighter than glass.

Internals

The RealMe U1 is the first phone to house the Helio P70 chipset, which has better image proccesing hardware. It's gonna improve the cameras as they will now be able to render depth of feel in real time and HDR also multiframe noise reduction.

The chipset has 4 high power Cortex-A73 cores and 4 low power Cortex-A55 cores. Not only that but also a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The RealMe U1 comes in 2 variants - 3/32GB and 4/64GB. The phone has support for Micro SD expansion along with a dual nano sim slot.

The chipset promises a steady 60fps in games thanks to optimizations of RealMe.

Camera

The RealMe U1 is RealMe's first selfie-focused phone. So, it's got some really interesting set of cameras on the back. The rear camera has a 13-megapixel (f/2.2) lenses along with another 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensing sensor for portrait shots.

The front facing camera is a huge 25-megapixel one that's housing in the teardrop notch. This camera has the Sony IMX576 sensor with 0.9µm pixels that can be binned for better low light photos.

Battery Capacity

The battery capacity of the RealMe U1 is the same that we saw on the RealMe 2 Pro. The 12nm chipset is very efficient so the battery should be easily able to give a typical day's backup easily.

Extra Features

Apart from all the things mentioned, the RealMe U1 has 10W standard chargin, It still has the dead Micro-USB port, it has dual 4G Volte, Fm radio , offline text scanning and translation from Hindi to English.

Verdict

The RealMe U1 is a very good mid-range phone that's got a decent chipset, some decent rear cameras along with a huge 25-megapixel camera for selfies, a good battery and a decent build quality.

The phone comes in 3 colours and they are - Ambitious Black, Brave Blue and Fiery Gold. The 3/32 GB version costs INR-11990 ($170/€150) and the 4/64 GB version costs INR- 14,499 ( $215/€190).
